The essential oil recommended for epilepsy is  Curly Parsley  ( Petroselinum crispum ).

Warning: use it with care and moderation. In high doses, it can be neurotoxic and abortive. It is not recommended for children and pregnant women. 

You can try other essential oils like: Ylang ylang  (Cananga odorata) or  Noble Chamomile  (Chamaemelum nobile) with caution. Favor an olfactory use. But avoid pouring drops directly on your pillow. You can place 2 drops on a tissue near your pillow. If, during the night, the odor bothers you or causes the onset of an attack, you can remove the handkerchief.

Is it a safe oil?

Parsley oil is not recommended for aromatherapy without the supervision of a qualified physician. Do not ingest this oil  , ingestion in large quantities may cause serious liver damage. Do not use it if you have liver related diseases. It should also not be used by pregnant women or young children.

When applied topically, it should be diluted in a carrier oil such as olive, almond or coconut oil. We also advise you to do a skin test with a small amount before using this oil to see that there are no allergic reactions.

Side effects of parsley essential oil

The oil contains oleoresin, which research shows acts as a different stimulus on the nerve centers of the brain and spine. You should never ingest it and use it only topically in small amounts. If you experience any discomfort, stop using it and consult your doctor.
